History of Land Surveying:
Land surveying is a science, and it is also an art. This means that all surveyors must have some knowledge of the scientific principles of geometry and trigonometry, as well as the ability to work with their hands to use tools like transit or a level. A land surveyor uses measuring instruments to record data from which land information can be derived. They need this data so they can determine things such as boundaries between properties, the size of lots for new construction projects, feature location on maps, property ownership records, and more.
Surveyors have been around since ancient times when rulers would hire them for various reasons: Some wanted to assign land parcels after conquering another country; others needed help establishing accurate borders between neighboring tribes for different groups not to fight over territory (this was especially important during wartime). In addition to mapping out new territories/lands; these professionals were also used as navigators aboard ships during long voyages across oceans where no map existed yet!
Types of Surveys:
